The Cherries fan favourite joined in 2017 for an undisclosed fee, and established himself as one of their key players before their relegation in 2020.

The Bosnian international has a wealth of Premier League experience, getting over top-flight 250 appearances while playing for Bournemouth, Stoke, Chelsea and Portsmouth.

Rafael Benitez is thought to be interested in strengthening his goalkeeping options, and views the 36-year-old as the ideal man.

The goalkeeper has one year remaining on his contract, however, the Championship club may consider letting him go for free, making him a cheap option for the Premier League side.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to confirm the interest in the 34-year old.

Romano also revealed that Everton begun their chase for Begovic after Salvatore Sirigu, who was part of Italy’s Euro 2020 winning squad, completed a move to Genoa.
