‘The Notorious’ has endured a difficult spell in combat sports since reaching the pinnacle of his career in 2016 when he became the first fighter to hold two UFC world titles simultaneously.

Since then, he has lost to Floyd Mayweather, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier as his boxing and MMA careers have stuttered somewhat – even if his earning potential has only increased.

The fight against Mayweather in 2017 seems to have inspired many, with Tyson himself coming out of retirement and several YouTube fighters also stepping into the ring to earn vast sums of money.

De La Hoya has also got the itch to fight again and will make his return to the ring in July, although an opponent has yet to be announced.

Former two weight-world champion Cejudo is a regular guest on Tyson’s ‘Hotboxin’ podcast and was adamant McGregor would get ‘put away’ by De La Hoya.

Es News were on hand to record the encounter, which included Tyson revealing he now lives next door to McGregor in Newport, California and ‘Triple C’ insisting the fight would not last a minute.

“Oscar would put him away,” Cejudo said. “He’s a killer, and he’s not a Mayweather.

“He’s not a defensive guy. If he were to fight Conor in boxing, he wouldn’t last a minute, I swear to you. Left hook, jab.”

“Erm, that would be interesting,” De La Hoya could be heard replying.

“After he made half a billion dollars, I think Conor is pretty good. I have always respected him.

“There is always respect amongst fighters Unless you have a beef with somebody.”
