Football Manager 2022 has officially been announced with the release of the first trailer for the hugely-popular game.
The virtual management series has grown into a juggernaut since it was first unveiled as Championship Manager all the way back in 1992.
It’s extensive detail of the football world has even led real-life teams to check out the game’s database to aid their scouting analysis.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed he often played Football Manager when he was a player at Manchester United.
And the Norwegian even admitted it may have even helped him as a coach.
But when can fans have the chance to test whether they have what it takes to sit in the dugout? Here’s all you need to know…

Will Football Manager 2022 be on console?
Great news for Xbox fans with Microsoft confirming that FM 2022 will be returning to the console as well as in the traditional PC format.
In a further boost, the game will also be released on both next-gen Xbox Series X and Xbox One.
Miles Jacobson, Sports Interactive’s Studio Director, has said: “FM22 will break new ground for the Football Manager series as we arrive on Day One with Xbox Game Pass.
“The success of our return to Xbox last year surpassed even our expectations and we’re delighted to be expanding our partnership with Microsoft to give Game Pass members the chance to experience the closest thing to being a real football manager.”
Unfortunately there will be no PlayStation version but FM’s mobile version, for iOS and Android, will also be returning on November 9.
There is a planned version for the Nintendo Switch however and details about that and Football Manager 2022 Touch will be announced soon.
Will Manchester United be on the game?
United will be renamed to Manchester UFC in FM 22 and thereafter following a legal battle with gaming giants SEGA and Sports Interactive.
The Red Devils sued the game’s publisher in May last year due to a dispute over the trademark.
United claimed the game had infringed its trademark, but SEGA and Sports Interactive countered by insisting the use of the club’s name in the popular simulation series was a ‘legitimate reference to the Manchester United football team in a football context.’
United also claimed Football Manager infringed its trademark of the Manchester United logo by not using the official crest in the game.
