During a press conference on Friday, Nuno outlined his desire to not only keep star man Harry Kane, but also strengthen in the transfer market.

It appears as though Italy will be his prime shopping destination, with Football London claiming Atalanta duo Cristian Romero and Pierluigi Gollini are on Spurs’ wishlist.

Romero shone on loan at Atalanta on loan from Juventus last season, with the club keen to make the move permanent for a fee of around €16million (£13.8m).

The report claims the Italian side will take this option up, before selling Romero for a sizeable profit.

New Director of Football Fabio Paratici is reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign the 23-year-old centre-back, with Gollini also a target.

The former Aston Villa goalkeeper is seen as a potential successor to Hugo Lloris, who would be allowed to leave if the club receive an acceptable offer.

Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, who can play at centre-back and at right-back, remains a top target for the north London outfit who may look to get rid of Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld.
